The buzz surrounding the one-shot crime drama Adolescence was enough to propel Netflix to the No. 1 spot in Nielsen’s Top 10 Overall Streaming chart for the week of March 17.

Netflix occupied the two top spots, with the new original drama, The Residence, making its chart debut in second place. It was a very competitive week, with Netflix only having three titles in the Top 10 and its final title having shared streaming distribution rights with Hulu.

According to Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings, Adolescence had 1.442 billion viewing minutes for the week of March 17 and was one of four titles to cross over the billion minutes viewed mark. The drama, revolving around a 13-year-old arrested for the murder of a teenage girl in his school, resonated with the Adults 35-64 demo, with Hispanic viewers making up the largest percentage of viewers checking out the miniseries at 26%.

The Residence had 1.355 billion viewing minutes to take the No. 2 spot, followed by the previous week’s champ, Disney’s Moana 2, landing in third place with 1.129 billion minutes viewed on Disney+.

Prime Video’s Reacher took fourth place with 1.097 billion minutes viewed and was the last title with over a billion viewing minutes for the week.

Netflix also rolled out its in-house adtech platform for the US.

The re-air of Grey’s Anatomy on Hulu and Netflix was at No. 5 with 977 million viewing minutes and was one of three non-original titles to occupy the chart.

The bottom half of the chart had Disney+’s Bluey at No. 6 with 975 million viewing minutes, followed by Max’s The White Lotus at No. 7 with 973 million minutes viewed.

Hulu makes its second appearance on the chart courtesy of Family Guy re-airs, giving the streaming platform 919 million minutes viewed to take eighth place. At No. 9, Peacock earned a spot in the chart courtesy of its showing of Wicked, which garnered 905 million minutes viewed.

Closing out the chart is another new entry, AppleTV+’s Severance, which had 876 million viewing minutes.
